This client has a market leading reputation for providing products, services and innovative solutions to their customers, so it was essential to deliver the expected value of the upgrade on time and on budget, while minimising the risk of disruption to their business operations and customer service.

A client review of services, applications, and infrastructure had identified gaps in resiliency, stability, and security. Several critical areas were highlighted, that if not remediated could have severe impacts on day to day operation of the business and its customers. One key area of risk was the strategic Database Management Infrastructure that supported all the core systems within the organisation.
A remediation project was initiated to close the areas of risk down. They recognised that a Testing Services delivery partner with a proven track record for high quality and cost-effective testing within such a complex project was essential. This would provide confidence that the changes implemented would deliver increased stability, resilience and security of the Database Management Infrastructure required.
Our Testing Team responded quickly, working collaboratively with solution architects, technical designers, and programme/project resources to understand the complexities of the infrastructure architecture, as well as the services and applications that depended on the infrastructure. We believe that it is an essential step to obtain Test Strategy engagement and key stakeholder buy-in at the outset of any project.
After the analysis stage we identified that around 40 applications were impacted, of which 23 Applications are critical to the clients day to day business activities. A total of 14 distributed systems and 3 Test Environments were impacted by the Database Management Infrastructure upgrade.
Based on this analysis, our Testing Team rapidly initiated engagement with the application owners, distributed system owners and test environment owners. Working in partnership they scoped, agreed and delivered a Testing Strategy to ensure that the stability, resilience and security of the applications, services and database management infrastructure was maintained and increased after the delivery of the enhancements.

During Test Execution, our expertise was also key in the successful delivery of Manual and Automated Regression Testing. This was done for 6 Critical Applications across 3 managed test environments, together with the successful coordination of Application Regression of a further 34 Applications across the 3 test environments. All were delivered within agreed project/programme timescales. In addition, we provided all the required Test Completion Reporting for Applications that completed Regression Testing.
